Bidra med feedbackI ordered a shrimp scampi pizza and an eggplant rollatini pizza, and I was extremely pleased with both. They were absolutely delicious, and I would gladly order them again. The delivery was prompt, and the delivery person was very courteous.
The food was excellent. Every pasta dish we tried was exceptional. The wedges were fantastic, and the bread, topped with sesame seeds, was toasted to perfection. The pizza was the best I’ve ever had in Danbury. The garlic knots were also very good, but I found the pricing a bit odd when it came to adding more items to our order.
This has always been our favorite pizza place. We used to frequent their Mount Kisco location and were delighted to find out they opened in Danbury when we relocated from New York. Unfortunately, our last two orders have not met their usual standards. For example, there were no noodles in the chicken noodle soup, the pizza had the wrong toppings, the bread was moldy, and the salad was soggy and spoiled. The decline in both the quality and order accuracy has been very disappointing lately. We plan to give them one last chance since my husband loves their pizza, but sadly, we may have to start searching for another option.
The buffalo chicken pizza used to be my favorite here, but I got it tonight and it had what I think was pesto or some other strong flavor that I've never encountered on a buffalo chicken pizza before. It was really unpleasant—almost inedible. At the very least, you should update the menu to reflect this new recipe. I definitely wouldn't have ordered it if I had known.
We waited over an hour for our food, which would have been fine if we had received the correct order. When my husband went to pick up the pizzas, he double-checked to confirm they were gluten-free since the same uninformed person was handling the pickups. This person even tried to make my husband pay for the order again, despite it already being paid online. When my husband asked, once again, if the pizzas were indeed gluten-free due to my allergy, he was assured three times that they were 100% gluten-free. However, after eating more than half of one of the pizzas, I became extremely ill, realizing that the pizzas we ordered—after confirming four times they were gluten-free—were not gluten-free at all. My husband and I clearly communicated my gluten allergy, yet we were lied to by two different staff members who insisted the pizzas were safe. This establishment clearly doesn't prioritize their customers' health. They employ incompetent staff, are slow in the kitchen, often deliver incorrect orders, and show no concern for allergies. All they seem to care about is making a profit. So, if you're looking to order food only to wait an unreasonable amount of time, receive the wrong order, be misled, and potentially risk your health with an allergy, Basilico's is the perfect choice for you. When I called to complain, the manager insisted it was my fault for not selecting a place that takes gluten-free preparation seriously. I've never experienced cross-contamination before, so I argued that there must have been gluten in the food I received. After a lengthy back-and-forth, the manager finally admitted that they don't keep gluten-free pasta in-house, which is likely why I got sick. This confirms my suspicion, especially since their menu clearly labeled it as gluten-free. This restaurant is a joke. Based on other reviews, they don't take food allergies seriously, which is a significant issue for a business centered around food.
