Mama Carmela's Deli - Darien

I used to love this restaurant, but ever since new ownership took over, the quality has declined. My sandwiches used to be huge and filling, but now they are small and lackluster like those from any other deli. I would be willing to pay extra for a more substantial sandwich. I miss the old ordering system and the original Mama Carmela's. It was not broken before, so there was no need to try and fix it.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, but it tends to be very busy during breakfast and lunch. Today, I ordered food over the phone because I only had 30 minutes for lunch. When I arrived, I didn't mind waiting in the long line for about 15-20 minutes to get to the cashier. However, when it was finally my turn to pay and pick up my order, the cashier completely ignored me and let 3 high school boys cut in front of me. After that, two more people were allowed to cut the line. This experience has made me decide that this will be the last time I visit this deli, and I will not recommend it to any of my customers, friends, or family.

I visited Mama Carmela's for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised! The Ruben sandwich was the best I've ever had and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable.

My first time there and I was so disappointed. I ordered an omelette, they forgot the toast and home fries. Also ordered a healthy wrap and was given a black bean and pepper wrap. It wasn't like they were busy so there is no excuse. But they did makesure to charge me full price.
