Bangkok Thai Ivory Cuisine - Dartmouth

Had the ready curry chicken dinner special. Very good and prices were very good. Recommend this place for Good quality Thai food at reasonable prices.

The Bangkok Thai Ivory presents nice ambience, if you have visited Thailand its easy to recognize the influence. Seating myself, fairly quickly I was offered attention. But when the waiter couldn't answer questions about the dishes it was fortunate the duration of my service came from two lovely ladies. They really were the high light to this dining experience ! The food lacking the combination of spice and herbs which give Thai food its very distinctive character was disappointing. Starting with the 'chilies', when the menu shows even one chile one might expect a minimum hot spice. But it also lacked any additional flavor, lemon grass, garlic, ginger, cilantro; the coconut soup was an indescribable liquid coconut with a few sticks of veggies.

I can't believe reviews saying Thai Ivory has small portions, How much are you used to eating?!I used to eat here when they first opened, as it is close to my office so picking up lunch was convenient. I hadn't been here for a while and ordered take out yesterday to bring back. The lunch special comes to $12 and you get a very good amount of food for that price. I was full right up until supper time after eating my lunch.For $12 I can barely get a salad at Freshii...I had the crispy chicken, which came with rice, hot and sour soup, and a spring roll. The thai sweet and sour sauce came separately from the chicken, which was nice as when restaurants dump the sauce on the chicken for takeout, by the time you get where you are going, it is soggy. Not the case here. My chicken was crispy, the way it should be.The service has always been pleasant every time I have been here to pick up my order, and the décor in the restaurant is beautiful. Definitely a great lunch option in Dartmouth crossing!

Across the street from the Hampton Inn in Dartmouth Crossing where we stayed so it was convenient. Ordered takeout to eat in the room. Portions seemed small but we paid full price for take out. Red curry with veggies was good but the pad Thai was extremely dry. Hot sour soup was a bit different. Hard to put a finger on the cause. But just not as flavorful as one would expect. Can't comment on the service since we didn't eat in, but $69 for one appetizer and two entrees seems a bit high.

I am by no means a Thai cuisine expert but this for me was tops!! Great friendly service, fresh ingredients, very tasty... Will definitely be back....
