Feedback
Bidra med feedbackThe room itself was satisfactory, although the hotel is quite dated. There were very few electrical outlets for charging devices, which I suspect is one of the reasons they need renovations. A major issue arose when I was looking for a small container of dishwasher detergent to clean a few utensils before checking out. When I called the front desk, I was informed that they had no dish soap and that if I wanted to clean anything, I would need to run it through the dishwasher. I had planned to wash the utensils at my next stop, but it was inconvenient. On my way out, I suggested they provide some liquid detergent for guests who wanted to clean up a bit, and one of the staff members bluntly interrupted me, stating, "We don't have that here. We only have the powder." It left me feeling like I was dealing with typical New York City rudeness. I expressed my disappointment and mentioned that I wouldn’t be returning to this hotel, but it felt like my feedback fell on deaf ears. This experience certainly does not reflect my usual encounters with Hilton hotels, especially as a Diamond member. I hope they improve their service and become more customer-oriented. Having been a customer service manager myself, I would have found a way to help—whether by fetching the detergent or offering an alternative solution—rather than simply dismissing the issue. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
The next day, we were out all day, but when we returned, our room had not been cleaned. We had to go to the front desk to request fresh towels. On the following day, after asking three times, our room still wasn’t cleaned. The dishes in the kitchen were dirty and had leftover food stuck on them, and the furniture was dusty and unkempt. The beds were uncomfortable and not clean. Additionally, there was no safe or iron in the room. The walls were quite thin, so we could hear the people above us using the bathroom and also the noise from the room next to the exit. The hotel laundry area was also noisy. Breakfast was consistently cold and disappointing, and we had to share the space with housekeeping staff who were preparing fruits and warming up eggs. The front desk staff often seemed distracted, spending time on personal phone calls or FaceTime. Communication was difficult. I requested to speak with the General Manager but never received a response, as they appeared to be unavailable throughout our stay. My son is planning to attend Davidson College, and based on this experience, we will not be staying here again. Despite being a Diamond Member who frequents Hiltons, this was the worst experience I've ever had.
Additionally, the ice machine on our floor was out of order, and one of our rooms lacked a "Do Not Disturb" sign. When my daughter went to the reception to get one, no staff were available to assist her, despite her waiting for a while. The TV also posed problems; there was no guide available, and the on-screen guide didn’t work, leaving us unable to find channels. Furthermore, the TV signal was very poor. We requested room service for both rooms, but only one was attended to. After our stay, when I mentioned the cockroach incident to the young lady at the front desk—who was polite but on her way to the bar with a to-go container—she said she would check us out later. When I informed her about the cockroach, she advised me to email the manager, which I did, along with a photo. I am still awaiting a response. We paid nearly $2,000 for our stay, and encountering a large cockroach in our bedroom is unacceptable. Thankfully, we noticed it in time to eliminate it; finding it among our bedding would have been far worse.
For a nicely decorated room and common areas in a great location there are a few things that do not make this stay a 5-star review. Your T. V.s are antiquated and not smart. No way to stream or watch movies except HBO. Your breakfast meat and egg options are terrible tasting. I have in fewer hotels with better food and even McDonalds is better (which I don't often eat).
Stayed at the Davidson Homewood Suites for three nights during the last week of September 2022. Honestly, I read many bad reviews about this hotel and almost canceled and booked another hotel. Luckily, there were enough good reviews to convince me to take my chances and keep this reservation. I'm glad I did. I have no problems to report. I had little interaction with hotel staff but what I did have was pleasant and professional. Our suite was clean and comfortable. We had one of the few rooms that had a small balcony which made it nice to sit outside and enjoy a beverage in the evening after a day of sightseeing. This hotel is in a great location, just off the highway and very close to downtown Davidson. We definitely would stay here again if we ever come back to the areal
