Bidra med feedbackI stayed at Bombay Peggy's in Dawson City a couple of years ago. I loved this place! A historical brothel that has been converted into a hotel. The rooms were lovely and the house has been restored wonderfully and the staff were very nice. The history alone makes it worth the visit!
At the end of June 2022, two nights stayed in the Gold Room. The staff was practically invisible, but friendly. They allowed me to park in the alley behind the pub and recharge my solar power plant. A proposal: In the summer, please have coffee below, at 6 o'clock instead of the current 8 o'clock, so guests who go early can get their morning cuppa.
My daughter described this hotel as just like a royal palace and the best hotel EVER. That pretty much sums it up. The building and rooms are beautiful, thoughtfully renovated, and well taken care of. The beds are very comfortable. There was free juice and pop in our fridge and delicious treats and sherry available in the parlour. Although this is not a B&B, we had warm croissants delivered to our door each morning. We arrived dirty after a week-long canoe trip and the staff were still super-nice and welcoming. I 've been to their pub on previous trips and it was cozy, stylish, and fun. We would love to go back anytime.
If you're visiting Dawson City, I highly recommend this place. The owners and staff pay exceptional attention to detail. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Each morning, we were greeted with fresh, warm croissants at our door, along with coffee in the lounge. In the evening, we enjoyed sherry or port paired with cheesecake in the same cozy space. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the bar attached to the hotel is quite comfortable. The bar also offers delicious drinks and a great ambiance. If I ever return, I won't hesitate to book a stay at Bombay Peggy right away.
While Bombay Peggy's doesn't serve breakfast, they do offer delicious morning croissants, and there's a pub on-site. For breakfast, we recommend the El Dorado, which is just across the street. The only downside to our stay was that our room was directly above the pub, so we experienced quite a bit of noise from downstairs until around 2 AM when the pub closed (especially since it stays light so late in the summer). Aside from that minor issue, everything was absolutely perfect, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience in Dawson!
