Japanese Cafe - DEL MAR

I thought of Shimbashi Izakaya as a beer and sushi after work today. Parking was super easy as it was in the middle of the week, and I got a table easily. During summer and weekends it is almost impossible to find parking and makes it more difficult to get to the restaurant. The sushi was really delicious and tasted very fresh, they also had ice cold beer. The sushi rolls were OK. There are some good prices from 5 am to 6 pm for Happy Hour and have a wide selection of sushi and appetizers and roles to choose from.

So nice to try this Japanese restaurant in Del Mar. This place has a magnificent sea view. It's really popular. I must say the service is extremely slow, that makes me almost a 4-star, but I can say they really need more employees. The waitress is nice, she really tried hard to make any service. But it's super slow.... We waited for 30 minutes to place our food order. The foods did not come too slowly to our table. And all foods are very delicious. I love their menu, you can get almost everything you want from a Japanese restaurant, including sukiyaki hotpot and grilled beef tongue. I believed in cold Soba noodles and enjoyed my food. I hope they can hire more employees soon.

The Japanese cuisine here is exceptional, featuring high-quality dishes that are delicious. The hot items are perfectly seasoned, and the sushi selections provide a refreshing departure from the typical offerings. Be sure to try the Ankimo, Aubergine, and Agadashi Tofu, and then enjoy a variety of sushi or additional hot dishes. Delicious!

The service was excellent, and the nigiri sushi was absolutely delicious. The included soup also deserves a shout-out for its exceptional flavor, surpassing most I've had.

I started with the Veggie Gyoza, which was quite tasty. The vegetable filling was a bit bland, but the wonton wrapper was delicious. A dash of hot sauce really brought it to life! The chicken was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the yellowtail with jalapeño was incredibly fresh. If I return, I would definitely order it again! The seaweed salad and shattered cucumbers were absolutely fantastic. I finished my meal with mochi for dessert—two pieces for $6. The strawberry mochi was delightful, but the mango was definitely my favorite! You really can't go wrong with such a tasty place that offers great prices and service. Plus, you'll enjoy a lovely view of the beach from the outdoor seating. It's a wonderful spot for your next dinner!
