Road trip from Strahan to Bridport. Holidaying from Queensland, midmorning stop for the best coffee if a weeks worth of milky weak ones. Accompanied by the tartest/sweetest/crispiest berry pastry and pack of delicate x 5 sandwiches to go. So refreshing . Will go back for their pies and report back.
We were not too sure about this bakery but the lady who served us was very friendly and we decided to sit outside where it was quiet. The pie and pastie we ordered was delicious. Over the road from the bakery is the most amazing large tree so while we ate our lunch we relaxed while taking in the views. We often find in these little towns that the local folk who are sitting to have a meal do tend to stare at you when you come in. They seem to know you are not local. I spent many a school holiday in Deloraine and it is a lovely town.
Working down here for a few months and just love the pasties. Better than anything I have tasted and dare I say better than any pastie I tasted in Cornwall. Right ingredients, seasoning and flavour.
We stopped in for morning tea. There was easy parking available out front and the service was friendly. The selection of baked goods was not extensive, but what they had was excellent. The large apple cakes with icing were the biggest and most delicious I've ever had. The custard tarts looked appealing and my wife enjoyed her tasty curried chicken pie. The coffee was smooth and creamy. Overall, it was not amazing but it was pretty good.
