Don’t really know where to start because the whole evening was so perfect Elvira had decorated for Christmas so sitting by a roaring log fire in a tastefully decorated and incredibly atmospheric snug was a wonderful start! Elvira worked so hard serving drinks and ensuring that our party and everyone else was happy we moved into the dining room after particularly delicious canapés and again everything was wonderful! David’s food is superb we all had different choices and everyone was amazed at the quality and presentation everything was just delicious!!! We had a wonderful evening thank you both so much!

We stayed here for two nights, taking dinner on the second night. The accommodation is lovely in a gorgeous room with a really comfy bed. Both Elvira and David are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The all important breakfast is delicious with a very tasty full English together with loads of berries, croissants and preserves. Dinner was absolutely stunning. When I looked up David’s history, I found that he trained under Pierre Kaufman and, boy, does it show. Starters of smoked salmon with prawn terrine and goats cheese with a beetroot salad were delicious and light. My wife had salmon with king prawns in a sweet chilli sauce which was cooked perfectly. I had venison steak and, not ever had one before, asked David to cook it as he wished. The result was nothing short of stunning. The slight char on the outside was complemented by the soft and moist interior. The sauces that came with it were delicious and perfectly complemented the venison. The vegetables that accompanied the protein were simple, but perfectly cooked in a butter emulsion which allowed the salmon and venison to take centre stage. A delicious, but very reasonably priced Merlot, complemented the meal and a lovely coffee to finish the meal topped of a fantastic meal. This place is absolutely beautiful. Amazing gardens its amazing quirky inside.. The service and the food are second to none.. It’s absolutely amazing EVERY time we visit..its ALWAYS presented beautifully its right on our doorstep.. David Elvira Ruby go above and beyond for EVERYONE.. I CANT emphasis enough how truly amazing this place is.. We absolutely love it here. Huge thanks to david elvira ruby for an outstanding service EVERY visit.
