Bidra med feedbackDuring our summer holiday, we walked from Cynwyd to Corwen and came across a welcoming pub. We had plenty of drink options, seating, and board games to choose from. The pub landlord was friendly and witty, even lending us darts to play games. We had a great time and would recommend this pub to anyone visiting the area.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, my family of four adults and three small children were turned away from other establishments before finding this charming pub. Despite not being able to serve food at the time, we were greeted warmly by the landlord and locals inside. The pub may appear unassuming from the outside, but inside it boasts an intriguing atmosphere with an old vinyl records jukebox, a variety of games, and a pool table for entertainment. The landlord was friendly and welcoming, making our experience enjoyable.
During our stay in the area in early September 2020, many places were not welcoming to our family of four adults and three young children. However, this pub was an exception with faultless hospitality from the landlord and locals. The beer was excellent and well-maintained, catering to us retired publicans. The atmosphere was fantastic, and our granddaughters loved the jukebox and selection of games in the pub tables. The only downsides were that it was only open on weekends due to COVID regulations and did not serve food for the same reason. Despite this, I would recommend this pub to anyone in the area for any occasion.
What an awesome place this is. Fantastic real pub feeling, decent prices for well kept ale, one of the friendliest landlords I've met in a long time (Ian, lovely bloke , a vintage 50s jukebox with vinyl singles (10p a go! , board games and a chess set in the corner... Couldn't find a fault with the place at all. My only disappointment was that due to COVID-19, they were only able to open one the weekend. Otherwise I'd have been here every day of my visit. If you're in the area, check it out.
From the outside it looked shut, but when the neon sign in the window came on we went in. What a chuffing fantastic place. Authentic 70/80’s decorthat needs updating but gives the place a great atmosphere. The locals go there as they don’t mind a cobweb or two. Some are more chatty than others. Pool table. 1980’s jukebox, complete with 80s records. Great beer and the landlord you could talk to him all day. A true gem. They even have a pound and a penny souvenir machine.
