Bidra med feedbackThe decor was stunning, featuring ice library-themed walls paired with a bright tin ceiling. The food was also fantastic. We started with bacon-wrapped scallops, which were simply perfect. I tried the burger recommended by the waitress, which was the owner's special, topped with blue cheese, cheddar cheese, and bacon. It was likely the best burger I've ever had. My partner ordered a caprese cod salad with candied walnuts, and she absolutely loved it. We also tried the Portuguese dish next door, which had a bit of an odor, but she enjoyed that as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Food was solid, stick to what they recommend. I would have given the food a 4 if they hadn’t oversalted my sister-in-law’s asparagus (a lot) and if the shrimp scampi were more flavorful (butter/garlic). Scallops, clam chowder, asian stir fry and ahi tuna tacos were all very good.
I continued to work for another three weeks, earning just $3.75 per hour, which is illegal. On Memorial Day, I was at least hopeful to see that we finally had some customers. However, the experienced waiter, who had only joined us a few days prior, quit as soon as I arrived. I ended up serving about six tables on my own. To make matters worse, there were no clean drinking glasses available, and the menus were misassembled, missing the entrees page entirely. The chef, who showed up at work with his second black eye of the week and clearly hungover, was uninterested in cooking. He informed me that he couldn’t serve a table of eleven that had made reservations, and he ended up 86’ing salads, chicken, fish, and chowder after customers had already ordered them. I had to return house special drinks that the bartender couldn’t make correctly and noticed that they were out of several tap beers. Not only did the table of eleven leave, but also a party of three walked out before their food arrived due to the long wait, and a table of two left before even ordering. The only table that actually received food was so unhappy with their meals that they refused to pay the bill. That was my signal to resign. This job experience was incredibly humiliating and demoralizing. Furthermore, Etzy’s refuses to reimburse me for my time reflecting minimum wage! I’ve reached out to the owner, Dennis, who, during his rare visits, took the opportunity to drink excessively and flirt with the young waitresses. It's no surprise that Dennis hasn’t returned my calls.
Good food is a decent value, but they have to work on the ambience.
Fried chicken was burned and chicken sandwiches were very dry. The waiter never came back to check the food. We tried to get him to the table and explain why we were not satisfied when he finally came, we wanted to explain it, but he really couldn't understand us. Very frustrating we ordered a pizza left and had to eat in the car on the way home. It took so long to get the kids to bed.
