Catahoula's Louisiana Kitchen - Denton

Been wanting to try Catahoula's, a friend was curious too. We had the lunch specials and both of us enjoyed our meal. Will definitely go back.

I usually get some kind of Cajun meal when I got to establishments like this. This Cajun burger intrigued me, so I ordered it. It was delicious, better than I expected! My husband got the alligator tail, which was delicious as well! I'm not sure if that is normally chewy, but even so, it was so good. We sat at the bar the service was okay. She was nice attentive, but would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time.

I really would do a 0 star review right now just because of how disappointed I am about my online order. Last time I came here I dined in and it was good, I got a shrimp creole and loved it even had extra to take home because of the amount I was given. I had Just decided to order some shrimp creole for pickup so i can bring it back to my house and eat it since it was so good last time. To my surprise when I open the box it was in I had about a half scoop or rice and maybe 6 shrimp. Thought i might have ordered kids on accident but then remembered I paid $18 for this to not even halfway fill up. Don't really like complaining about things but if i'm going to spend that much on some food I hope I get full from it and not have to go pickup something else.

Best authentic Louisiana food in North Texas! I 'm admittedly a certified gumbo snob and I gotta tell ya ', this place is great! Down-home Cajun and Creole recipes your Grandma Thibadeaux would approve! Excellent service and good sized portions! Y 'all go!

I visited the restaurant recently for the first time. I ordered the Fried Catfish Atchafalaya. My meal came with broccoli and green beans and the meal was mediocre. I was confused on the catfish. It definitely wasn't U.S. Farm Raised catfish. I'm not sure if the catfish was imported from overseas or if it was a substitute. The person that was with me ordered a burger and fries, which tasted 10 times better than my meal. For dessert, I ordered the bread pudding and it was pretty good. The server was amazing and yes I would visit the restaurant again, but I will definitely try something different. One thing I did notice is Monday-Friday from 3-7 is happy hour and there were a few food items that I would try.
