Poppies Lounge - Denver

Poppies is lovely. a friend picked it up for lunch. it wasn't disappointed. our four-headed party was happy to have service and eat. my lachs piccata excellent. flavorful and plentiful. I'll be back when I visit him.

I had a turkey club with fresh truthahn, not processed. toasted sourdough was delicious, cheese, speck and avocado! came with pommes. pic is left over sandwich. my mandant had a garnel salad, he looked pretty good. I had NY cheesecake without toppings. it was thick and had a wonderful crust. my mandant had a nice thick piece of carrot cake that would have paired well with a little wee! looks like I had.

For years not here, but the return visit was perfect. 6 years ago to take advantage of the happy hour. $2 on a glass wee, half price for the bottle! every day there are specials, and today's bounced sole with rice was fantastic. make sure to save some space for dessert. we had the brotpudding. the place is a small key, many masters and natives. service was attentive, but not intrusive, and the background music of the famliarian music of the 60s and 70s was soft enough that we did not have to scream about the table.

Poppy’s is a great place for good classic comfort food! we really appreciate that they have set up a very nice outdoor dining place, although we decided to eat inside. the menu was extensive with many classics, including bark strawganoff, specialties hamburger, garnel sauces, prime rib and bark sandwiches and many healthy salads to choose from. the staff was very friendly and courteous and our eating was served piping hot and very fast. I give poppies restaurant on colorado boulevard five stars!

We had a fantastic meal at Poppies. Each person in our group ordered something different and we all thoroughly enjoyed our choices. The prime rib, rib roast, and stroganoff were particular standouts. Although the desserts were on the small side, they were incredibly tasty. The service seemed a bit hurried, likely due to a staff shortage, but it didn't detract from our overall experience. We really appreciated the nostalgic ambiance of the restaurant and look forward to returning.
