Filomena's Lakeview - Deptford

I attended my daughter's bridal shower at this restaurant yesterday. The food was delicious and I cannot praise the staff enough! They put in a lot of effort to ensure it was a memorable day for our family!

The atmosphere, the food, the service, all so much more than expected for a lunch. Our server was very attentive to our every want or need, yet was not hovering. The menu was extensive for a lunch menu; I had the sesame encrusted ahi tuna. At first, I thought it was a bit overdone, but one taste told me it was perfect, may I say superb. The tables are spaced far enough apart that you cannot overhear other conversations and can feel free to converse with others at the table. The restaurant had several patrons, yet was quiet. The wine was perfectly chilled. Filomena’s is what one may expect to find in an upscale expensive resort community. If you are anywhere nearby Deptford, search this restaurant out, it will be well worth your time for one of the best meals you have ever had.

Service was great, restrooms clean. Food was good, but not great. Food was very expensive. I ordered the penne bolgnese fra diablo...it was good, but nothing to rant and rave over. Two other folks in my party got steaks, they said they were ok. I prefer Bottos in Swedesboro or The Italian Affair in Glassboro. There is a nice bar. We were seated in the first floor room to the left...VERY loud. It was very diffocult to hear the other folks in my party. They have a nice outdoor patio. I didnt see the upstairs, but im told its very nice. Parking lot is big...plenty of room for a Monday night. Friday or Saturday...im not so sure. They have very good chipotle garlic tobasco, but the lid/top of the bottle was nasty. I cleaned it off...but i check that at every restaraunt...if condiment bottles arent cleaned...thats not a great sign. The chairs in the left room are very uncomfortable...wood with a very sharp angle. Mens room was clean.

It was noon on a lovely Sunday so the three of us choose patio seating. Service and ambience were okay. Two of us ordered a veal dish. Mine was a saltmbocca , Taste was bland and the side of pasta was cold and tasteless. The second veal dish was a well cooked dry cutlet atop a large salad. It came with a second salad! Perhaps an error by someone. The salad ordered by the third guest was reportedly okay. The patio has a lot of potential. Perhaps lower the music, use tablecloths and some sprucing up would make all the difference.

The food and staff are wonderful. Whenever I visit the area I stop here with family and friends. They never disappoint!
