Sun Asian Bistro - Derry

Stopped in for lunch today and was extremely glad I did. First off the server was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the meat wonton soup, gyoza and chicken karaage. All were excellent as was the mai tai I had. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to visit here again.

I ordered the veggie pho had asked the waitress to make sure the broth was vegetarian. I was served pieces of chicken in my pho. I also asked for no onions due to a minor allergy and of course they loaded it with onions. Needless to say I was disappointed. The waitress was really on point with refilling our drinks though.Dietary restrictions: Don’t come here if you have dietary restrictions.

Every time I have come here, it has been amazing. The owner is really nice and so is the manager. I enjoy coming and seeing both of them. I can’t wait to see the upcoming renovations here (put a touchtunes box wink wink ? plus I will say I LOVE the special menu. The kimchi duck ramen was amazing and I would love this to be a permanent meal. Highly recommend.

Atmosphere was really poor. Looked like they were in the middle of a renovation. Service was awful, we had a server that had quite an attitude and all I could smell was her perfume. Pho was not good, I ate maybe 4 bites and decided to get the check. Maybe it was an off day, but I don’t think I’ll go back here. It’s a shame as the place looks cool from the outside, but as soon as you take a step inside you can tell the attention to detail is lacking.

TLDR: Overpriced and devoid of flavor.I tried this place once when it first opened and was disappointed. I decided to give it another shot the other day (a couple years later) and was even more thoroughly disappointed in the quality of the food. Nothing had seasoning and especially no salt.My yellow curry tasted like it was cooked in a pot that used to have yellow curry, and I got the leftover flavor that was stuck to the sides. The crispy pad thai was not pad thai. It was some egg noodles with boiled vegetables and chicken, and, once again, had no flavor at all. It didn't even have peanuts or any true pad thai flavor (tamarind).Everything (especially the appetizers) were over-priced for poor quality.I will never be dining here again. Beware places with 4.5 stars in Derry NH apparently because clearly nobody here has standards when it comes to Asian cuisine.
