Rita's Cantina - Des Moines

The margaritas are fantastic! I really enjoyed the basic beach flight. Most of the food I tried had a nice kick to it. We had a large group of 25, and we kept requesting another table, but the manager turned us down. Eventually, we just took an extra table and connected it to ours so everyone could have a place to eat. Our waitress, Audrey, did an excellent job handling our large party. It's a great spot for smaller groups of 2 to 6, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not a fan of spicy food.

I met some friends at this restaurant, and we each tried a different margarita flight. They were all a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was still enjoyable. The fish tacos were fantastic! However, the tamales were on the sweet side. We were hoping for something more savory when we ordered them. They were tasty, just not what we anticipated. Since we were all celebrating our birthdays, they treated us to a birthday cake ice cream taco, which was a lovely gesture. If I return, I would definitely order the mahi mahi tacos again and probably stick with a classic margarita.

The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, featuring a selection of margarita flights and delicious queso! Both the queso and margaritas were outstanding. We received excellent service, and our food arrived quickly from the kitchen. Our meals were fantastic. I can't wait to come back!

While I think that the host wait staff are wonderful I can't say the same about the kitchen staff. I ordered the shrimp tacos for lunch they sent out under cooked shrimp. I was flabbergasted. However I did inform my server they took the meal off myticket. Because I like the vibe environment I'm still debating on if I want to give them another try or not. Rita's word ofadvice cook your shrimp all the way through, nobody wants medium rare shrimp!

Got the queso flight, the margarita flight, and the quesadillas. Everything was so good and the server was nice and attentive. The patio is also very cute!
