Blue Star Cafe Ice Cream Treats

My husband was in line to get ice cream for our kids on the last night of our stay at Saugatuck and an employee went up to the person right in front of him and told him he was the last customer of the night because the owner wanted to close early. All while the open sign stayed lit open flag stayed up. Other customers proceeded to pull into the parking, stand in line, and employees didn 't bother to tell them they were closed until they reached the front of the line. Really unprofessional way of handling customers. Edit: it 's not about me wanting my ice cream. It 's about communicating your change of schedule in a way that 's respectful to out-of-towner 's vacation time. I 'm sorry you had an emergency, but maybe have a manager close up that night, or turn off all the open signs so people don 't continually pull up and unload their whole families, stand in line only to discover you 're closed. Short-sighted thinking is sad.

Quite a lovely interior, outside is also nice but the cars driving by make it a lot less atmospheric. I got a small soft serve and it was still HUGE! I recommend sharing with a friend or getting the junior size for kids. I couldn't finish the small, sadly... but it's very delicious! Quite thick and creamy soft serve. The service was also very fast, it wasn't very busy so I got my order a few moments after I paid.

Loved Marcie bread on the number 4. Also enjoyed my Dawn omlette with home fries. We like a cafe where I get breakfast and my husband gets lunch. Great onion rings too.

I just have to say that if you’re in town, you must stop by for some ice cream, their sloppy joes, or even a gyro! The service is fantastic, the food is delicious, and it’s a lovely spot to eat outside since it has been newly renovated!

Fantastic ice cream! I tried their espresso chocolate chip flavor, and it was delicious.
