Khaophums - Dover

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight. Overall, we found the food to be average (3.5 out of 5). We were not impressed with the Fresh Rolls or peanut sauce, even though they are usually our favorite appetizers. I ordered a Thai tea, which I usually enjoy, but found it to be lacking in flavor. My husband ordered Pad Thai and gave it a rating of three out of five. We were surprised when his dish was served before mine, causing his food to cool down while we waited for mine to arrive. There was no explanation or apology for the delay in service. While the experience was not great, we were happy to be together and had hoped for a better meal. Unfortunately, we do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

This is my preferred Thai restaurant in the seacoast region. They offer a variety of vegetarian options including tofu and vegetables. There is parking available on both sides of the street. The service is great for dine-in meals, especially during lunch time. The price per person ranges from $10 to $20.

Great place for having lunch that won't break your wallet. Food was delicious. I found it funny that spice level went from levels 1 thru 5, but it is pretty straight forward. I can handle spicy food but just to be safe I went with 3 and it was great. Definitely would come back! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

Khauphums has always been tops in my books. No other local Thai Restaurant could compare to the quality and authenticity of their food. I'm not sure if they changed ownership or chefs, but the last two times I have been there the food was not edible. It was so hot at a #3 that we could not eat it. There was no depth of flavor whatsoever. I sent it back only to have it returned with little to no liquid in the curry mixed with the vegetables and it was still not edible. My dinner friend had the same issue.I didn't eat the meal and the server kindly took it off my bill. That was the Dover location. The Exeter location has very inconsistent hours so I have not ordered often enough from there to make a fair assessment or give a balanced review. The fresh rolls that I have had in Exeter were very good, but the fresh rolls I had in Dover were too wet and fell apart. I make them at home and do a far superior job to what I experienced two weeks ago. I seldom leave a negative review, but I'm doing so to catch the owners attention so that they can make the necessary changes. I am a vegetarian and est Thai food all the time. Hopefully, things will improve and I can enjoy your restaurant some time again in the future.
