Bistro One - Dublin

Ladies night out. Lovely contemporary atmosphere. We all chose fish mains which were well received. The recommended side of cabbage was also a hit. Cheese selection is a la carte. Wishing the new owners well for the future.

The food and service at this restaurant are always fantastic. Our family adores this place and is never let down. It's fantastic no matter when you visit.

Just like everyone else, we hadn't been out for a romantic dinner for two in a long time. Overall, my review of Bistro One would be very positive. The service, atmosphere, COVID safety protocols, and the warm and enthusiastic owner all exceeded our expectations. The only downside was the high prices on the menu, which didn't match the quality and quantity of the food offered. For example, a €16 crab starter and a €34 Halibut main course felt overpriced. However, we had a voucher that helped offset the cost. Despite this, the restaurant had great service, a friendly owner, and a lovely ambience. While I understand the need for hospitality businesses to recover lost revenue, I believe that once the food prices align with the quality, Bistro One has the potential to be a fantastic dining experience.

My family and I recently visited Bistro One for Sunday lunch. We all had the three course lunch and were impressed with the delicious food. I particularly enjoyed the Black Pudding starter, while my son had the Bacon and Cabbage, I had the Roast Beef, and my wife had the Hake for mains. The meals were tasty and well prepared. For dessert, I tried the homemade Christmas pudding with custard, which reminded me of my aunt's version from my childhood - it was moist and fruity. The Christmas pudding can also be purchased to take home. The owner and serving staff were very friendly and the owner took the time to thank each guest for their support during these challenging times. Most of the diners that day were locals and the owner knew many of them by name. Overall, Bistro One is a hidden gem that I highly recommend, offering fresh, locally sourced produce and great service.
