Heart - Duck

Service was excellent, and the new restaurant was very nicely decorated. Even thought this restaurant is tucked away in Scarborough Faire without much of a view, it was well lit and inviting. Our group selected the fresh local seafood selections and the pappardelle was wonderful. We hope Heart lives to see another summer so we can visit again.

Food was good, brought my daughter wrong entree and did not bring a requested side salad, but we did not bother to say anything since we didn’t want to wait for replacement/correction. It was noisy in there with a singer/guitarist on top of regular dining room noise, I am guessing that contributed to the errors.

They are family owned and take great care and pride in their food, drink selection and ambience. Everything on the menu has an extra-ordinary list of ingredients and each dish is lovingly made and presented to the guests. The specialty drinks are fun and festive, while their wine list is broad enough for every palette. The atmosphere is current with warm neutral colors and rustic beach tones. The servers extend the warm hospitality and do their best to ensure your main dishes are well-spaced with the appetizers. Heart is a true gem and one worth visiting again and again.

Come here if you want to spend $170 on dinner out with the family of 4, wait over 45 minutes for appetizers when the place is empty, have everything come out wrong (wrong temperature on meat, missing side items) and in the wrong sequence (which may not be a problem if you like your entree served before appetizers), then get blown off by the manager when you have the courtesy to share with him in person how poor was the service and unpleasant the overall dining experience. I wish I had seen the more recent yelp reviews before coming tonight I definitely would have steered clear on the sound advice of people who were here just a few days earlier. Do yourself a favor and don't taint your vacation with the stain of this low quality establishment that's a short timer at best. Definitely the worst dining experience at OBX for all the 8 years we've been vacationing here. Though fear not!! This place (which was named Eastside Restaurant last season then went out of business) will too go out business within a few months based on what I saw tonight, and be named something else so no one will know it's all the same poor management. Sorry I can't tell you anything interesting about the food, I'm not even sure we got the right table order. Good luck guys!!!

Celebrated a 50th anniversary at Heart. Food and service were outstanding. Chef Joshua and his staff went above and beyond to make it a memorable evening for my parents and my family they even made an amazing chocolate espresso cake for us. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was delicious. Other dinner highlights: local tuna entree, crab cakes and pappardelle.
