Bidra med feedbackLoved it! So we went late tonight and were the only ones in the dining room. This was our first time going. We meet Seth who walked us through the menu and served us some good beer, wine and cider. I had a burrito and my partner a Mexican pizza. We shared the chips and queso. Everything was amazing! The interior was also really nice so I was surprised to see it empty. I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem and plan to become a regular.
I don?t often give out 5 stars, but this spot deserves it. I had a Mexican pizza and my husband had a burrito. The Mexican Pizza (don?t you dare call them nachos) was crunchy to the last chip and each chip had toppings on it. The cocktails were also fantastic and well balanced. I recommend this place if you are looking for a new spot to become you next favorite.
Solera is my favorite hang out spot in Durham! Sitting on the deck is a great way to spend time on a nice day. The food is freshly prepared, mostly house made and locally sourced. The last time I was there I had the Solera salad and Snuggies with a dry rosé cider. Lipstick on a Pig is my favorite burrito. The beer is really good as well. My husband and I meet up at Solera at least once a week. The restaurant is family friendly. My granddaughter loves making Smores (so do I! .
I only visited once before deciding to host my leaving-Durham going away party here, because of their creative burrito menu, expansive and comfortable deck, and friendly but casual service! All the employees were cool with 13 people showing up unannounced, staying for 3 hours, and playing a loud raucous game of Telephone Pictionary along the edge of the outdoor deck. They even helped facilitate a surprise cake and provided the knife and plates!I appreciate the burrito menu, its rotating vegan options, and the fact that it has such ingredients as cherry-soda braised pork (melt-in-your-mouth), fried squid (always tender, accompanied by oft-scorching peppers), collard greens and bacon marmalade, and fried broccoli. Not everything is a hit all the time, but it is more often than not, and in my opinion it 's better to take risks than to stay boring. (But if you want to stay boring, they have a basic burrito too, which I have heard tell is not actually boring at all.)I love their 'Phoebe ' chocolate caramel shake, too. Really caramelly!
Really enjoy the food and place! The queso and burrito bowls are especially good. Wish the portions were a bit larger, but highly recommend!
