The Patio At Unscripted - Durham

This place was so much fun. We've been here a number of times but recently got to experience the igloos. Great experience. The wait staff was a little slow but the experience was well worth it. You have to have a reservation and it can be a little tough to get one so look early.

This was our first time to the Patio at Unscripted for after dinner drinks with friends and it was amazing. The views were spectacular especially the sunset. The vibe is chill pool party with some people in swimsuits while others were in casual street wear. The drinks were strong and delicious. Definitely try the Frosé. It?s a sweet frozen concoction of rosé, simple syrup, and three liquors. We didn?t try the food but next time we are doing a brunch there. There?s alsoDrag Brunch. Yes. Please.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon at the pool. Food and service was superb. I was a bit taken back by some of the other guests open affection with their partners. There were some children in the pool and I was appalled that the staff didn't say anything to them. It was rather awkward for us.

I really wanted to like this but I would not stay here again. I was traveling with my teenage son, visiting local colleges, and to get two queen beds we were placed overlooking the pool/bar area. And the music all afternoon and evening at the pool bar was loud, even inside our room. And this was a weeknight. The music is supposed to end at 9 p.m., and it did within a few minutes of 9, but it's on until 11 (with DJ) on the Friday and Saturday, in case you're tempted. Our door had a half-inch gap at the bottom, so I stuffed towels in there to try and cut the noise, and help the A/C, but with only limited success. The hotel's location is nice, as is the staff, but unfortunately if you want to relax in your room, or go to bed early, I'd probably look elsewhere. Or at least make sure you're in a different part of the facility.

At check in, there wasn't a welcoming feeling and there was no information given on times the bar, pool bar or restaurant were open. Nothing in the rooms with any info either. There are hidden nightly parking fees that aren't anywhere to be found while making the reservation and they expect you to use a code each time you leave the parking garage and if it doesn't work, you have to hold up the line and get out of your car and go get them because they will not reimburse you.
