Subway - Eagle River

I like subway sandwiches. This location is fairly clean and it’s nice to go in and have a clean table to eat at. They gave me extra toppings, and a good amount of Extra, when I asked for them. It makes for a good experience when they give you exactly what you want. Only reason it does not get 5 stars is because Subway isn’t a top of the line restaurant. If I am rating this Subway against other Subways it would probably be 5 stars(FYI).

This is the second time that I’ve gotten sick from Subway and this is only the second time I’ve gone this year (I’d rather have firehouse subs). I don’t know what they are doing but, I’ve never had a problem with subway. Last time about 2 months ago, our meals made myself and my partner puke and spew our guts. Yesterday, the same thing. Went and now I’m laying in bed puking my brains out. Something tells me they aren’t cleaning fully or using the proper cleaning method for product.

Honestly, I didn't want to escalate things to a manager just to question why they won't make a pot of tea. As a customer, I simply wanted to order my food and leave quickly. My suggestion to Subway is that if someone asks for tea at 5 PM and you don't close until 9 PM, just go ahead and make it! Some of us are diabetic and can't have all the sugary options from the soda machine. It shouldn’t be that difficult! I’m not about to call the Americans with Disabilities Act to file a complaint over this, but next time, I might just drive to Anchorage instead.

The elderly woman who works there is consistently unfriendly and rarely assists the staff in making sandwiches. During busy dinner hours, she chooses to restock chips instead of helping out, even though there's usually plenty available. I've never had a smooth experience picking up an online order when it was ready; I've always ended up having to wait.

This is likely one of the cleanest Subway restaurants I've ever visited. While Subways aren't typically dirty, this one stands out for its cleanliness and appealing appearance. We usually order through the app, and it makes it really easy to come in and pick up our sandwiches. The only reason we didn't rate it higher is that they have frequently been out of items lately. Sometimes it's something minor like tomatoes, but other times it’s a major ingredient like lettuce, or even our favorite sauce. I'm not sure if this is their fault or just a result of post-COVID supply shortages. Nevertheless, we do enjoy this Subway; the employees are consistently friendly and seem to be hard at work.
