The Balfour - East Devon

We stayed at the Balfour Arm for a couple of days. The owner and staff we amazing. They made us and our two Springer dog’s extremely welcome. The bedroom were nice with a good en-suite loads of hot water. The location to Sidmouth was perfect an easy walk either through the street or as one of the staff told up along the river Byes Rooms: 3 Service: 3

The Sunday roast beef dinner at this restaurant was fantastic, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it. Service: 5 Location: 5

Sunday lunch was fine. Sheets on bed clean. Floor was dirty and needed a hoover and bathroom floor needed a mop. Shower riser was broken. Our room was over the entrance to the bar and the smell of the smokers and noise was terrible. Told breakfast was at 8.30. No one arrived to take order until 8.45. We left at 9.10 without breakfast! Very disorganised. Cutlery and cups were dirty, and chipped. Rooms: 4
