El Azteco - East Lansing

We ordered takeout through Grubhub and Grubhub messed up. They delivered our order to someone else and vice versa. I called ElAzteco and spoke with Billy the manager. Not only did he make a big service recovery. He sent one of his own staff members to deliver us fresh food. We did not have to go through the hassle of dealing with Grubhub. Thanks Billy and team, we will see you soon!

That atmosphere is great, nice outdoor patio. The food was incredibly disappointing. It’s nowhere near authentic. We got the tacos and burritos and they lacked any flavor, even the rice was bad. I think it was all re heated. I would not go back because I like getting a good meal when I pay for it.

This place is interesting to rate, because everyone about it is fabulous except the food and drinks. It 's a perfect college town restaurant, I suppose. Cheap, sticky floors, fun atmosphere, food is extremely meh.They have an extensive tequila menu, but I wish they had a top-shelf margarita, but I 'm pretty sure if you order an expensive tequila it still just gets tossed in with their standard (not good) margarita mix.As for the food, it 's about as generic Mexican food as I could imagine. Like, taco-bar-at-a-high-school-cafeteria generic. Everything feels fresh out of the packaging from Gordon Food Service. We don 't even finish the first complimentary basket of chips and salsa, which at most restaurants I have to force myself to not fill up on them before the meal comes. The one standout for me is the topopo salad. It 's a big delicious mess, but fun to pick at. If you 're ordering for yourself, get the half order.Again, this place is great fun, and you can 't ask for a better place to eat in the summer in East Lansing than on the rooftop at El Azteco (pronounced El ez by locals/students). Just remind yourself that you 're in a college town when you get your food.

Had a rude encounter with a staff member. Could not talk to a manager either after being served this $20 “steak” fajita meal that did not taste fresh and 4 pieces of steak.

Heard $20 dollars for a steak comes with 4 small pieces of steak. And they have store bought rice
