Bidra med feedbackVery nice restaurant with pizzeria, with excellent dishes of clear Italian taste (and therefore very good) and always available in customized variants. Very kind and very helpful all the staff.
Visited when it first opened with a voucher. Included either pasta or pizza each, together with the platter for two (Mandolino). Atmosphere and service was excellent. Returned with friends a couple of weeks later and wasn't the same. They had cut down the number of items on the platter and not as friendly. Visited again last night for another chance. Only two other couples were dining. Platter was very ordinary. Some sliced ham and salami, dried polenta no mushroom, no bruschetta. Arancini consisted of dough balls (not rice) One of the pizzas was not cooked (raw pastry). It was very disappointing Sorry Mandolino we will not be back.
Thought I would give a different Italian place a go gor a quick takeaway to enjoy back at the hotel, so away I went to Il Mandolino, one hundred meter from my favorite Italian place in Perth..... Shouldn't have bothered!Got the Arachini for a starter, well the balls proved to be home made with two of them dry and bland with third just how it should be, tasty and cheesy. They came on a bed of baby spinach...... not sure how the spinach was going to add anything, and no sauce. For my main I ordered the spaghetti ragu with meatballs. WELL, I got a watery and bland spag bol that would fail to impress a six year old.Sorry I'll Mandolino, but back to Roberto I go!
The restaurant is run by an Italian man - a bit overbearing - but it has really nice pizzas as well as other pasta dishes - a bit overpriced - but good. Nice selection of wines as well as gelati.
Very close to our hotel....and as we were looking for a first night supper dropped by here.Pizzas large and tasty. ....but atmosphere was not particularly special and our table next to the bright lights not especially relaxing. Not sure whether I would return?
