Bidra med feedbackWe visited as a large group on the railway open day. Veronique was absolutely lovely, allowing us a small room across the corridor so we could all sit together. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, including the vegan options. I thought the prices were extremely good value too. Everything was clean and the staff were incredibly kind. They were working flat out but there was always someone free when we needed something. Nothing was too much trouble. This place is a gem. We bought a large chocolate cake as it was my son’s birthday and that was delicious too, and looked amazing. Will definitely be back! :
Called in for lunch but being a Bank Holiday the specials had sold out...which is great for this lovely little cafe. The very lovely girl on the till suggested as I didn't want bread) that I have the Yogurt Bowl. It was super yummy, fruit was fresh and Greek style yogurt VERY indulgent. Rooibos tea was a refreshing change too. It was lovely to hear the miniature trains chugging in an out of the station too.
Today, I visited a cafe after a wonderful morning at the lakeside with my sister, friend, and our children. The cafe was busy, which I understand can be stressful for the staff. However, I was disappointed by the customer service we received. Our children were excited by the delicious cakes on display, but the staff seemed annoyed by their excitement. They gave us strange looks as if they had never seen children before (especially at a cafe near a children's play park/train ride)! The area where we lined up to order and pay was small, and when a waitress tried to pass through with hot food, she did not say excuse me and just pushed through, which I found rude. The lady at the till had poor customer service, lacking pleasantries like please and thank you. We felt uncomfortable waiting outside for our food while my sister collected it. The cake was delicious, and the kids enjoyed it, but the scones we ordered did not come with the advertised condiments, making them dry. When my friend asked for the missing sides, she was treated rudely and told they were not included because we did not ask for them. Eventually, she was given the condiments reluctantly. Overall, I was disappointed by the customer service, which spoiled an otherwise lovely day. I hope this feedback will help improve customer service in the future.
Just bought an apple slice and a carrot cake to go. Got home and they are completely stale. We aren't able to eat then so have had to go in the bin.
I visited this restaurant for the first time during lunch on a weekday. It was easy to find parking outside. The decor of the restaurant was beautiful, with tables spaced out nicely so you didn't feel cramped. We ordered a cream tea which included a delicious selection of sandwiches, crisps, a large scone with jam and clotted cream, a generous slice of cream-filled Victoria sponge, and a pot of tea. The other cakes on display looked amazing as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was also a small area in the corner of the cafe selling handmade items such as bags, earrings, and bunting. I was very impressed and happy to have found this place, especially since good quality independent cafes are scarce in the area.
