Bidra med feedbackWhat a great experience the chatty waitress/barmaid I think family made us welcome even though we hadent booked, chatted about the gin and she was right it was lovely,I had gammon cooked to perfection not dry and shriveled like so many places put in front of me.my partner had steak which he said was very good.both meals were very good value for money,I will be booking to eat again next week we like to eat out my birthday week.great Strickland it certainly is.
Menu is too much for whoever is delivering it. Long wait. Raw fish. Dreadful drinks menu. Say no more.
We had happened upon this place by chance on a drive out and vowed to return for food. Greeted by friendly staff and Anton the owner gave us a tour of the beautiful and quirky accommodation choices.. can see the pride and rightly so. Ideal for anyone staying in that area or passing through en route. The space inside and out of the cosy cabins/ yurts is wonderfully unexpected recommend taking a look. I had the lamb and ale pie (never come across that before and other interesting and unusual pies on offer also) husband opted for steak and ale both came with chips and veg and jug of gravy which I didn’t use as the gravy in pie was so delicious I didn’t want to dilute it but husband said gravey was very tasty as were starters! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience even waiting for food appreciating all home prepared/cooked in a traditional pub environment. We will definitely be back to sample more of the extensive menu.
We stayed in an Air BnB down the road and decided to eat at the pub on the Friday night. It was quite busy when we arrived and we were advised there would be a wait for food as we ordered pie which was cooked freshly to order. The wait wasn't excessive and the food was delicious. We loved the choice of potatoes (including dauphinoise). The pie was perfectly cooked and there was a good range of drinks. The pub was very cosy, and the staff lovely We would definitely go again when we are next in the area.
Family visit to celebrate 70th. Chicken burger and childs chicken should Not have left the kitchen(Chicken burger resembled a Beef burger it was so Black. Spoke to staff who took away and replaced but others in party had finished eating when another was returned..NOT ONE word of SORRY then or even on payment(Charged for Replacment). On leaving only then asked was everything alright.. Replied NO . Meal without deserts was £122.40. We all left disgusted with attitude and customer service. Training in kitchen and customer service in our opinion would not go amiss at this establishment.
