Bidra med feedbackLocated in the heart of Stockbridge, The Kilted Lobster recently opened its doors on St. Stephen Street. Upon entering, guests are transported to a seaside restaurant with fresh decor, blue tables, and seafood-inspired paintings on the walls. The small, cozy restaurant features a bar and a few tables. We started with refreshing fresh juices served in small glasses on a stand. I tried the orange and pear juices, both of which were delicious. Next, we enjoyed three different seafood amuse-bouche served on a mirror-like plate. For our starter, we had woodland pigeon breast, fruit dumpling, Stornoway black pudding, and chorizo crumbles with merlot syrup. The dish was served on a wooden tray made from a sliced tree trunk, which complemented the pigeon dish perfectly. The pigeon was tender and flavorful, enhanced by the black pudding. For the main course, we had a seafood platter with calamari, west coast langoustine, cod fillet, and mussel velouté. All the seafood was fresh and tasty, especially the cod fillet. Despite being full, we couldn't resist dessert, which included toffee apple panna cotta, Jura-soaked clootie dumpling, and hand-made petit fours. The toffee apple panna cotta was a standout. The menu at The Kilted Lobster changes seasonally, offering a variety of options including meat and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant has a friendly and relaxing atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to lose track of time and enjoy a delicious meal. I highly recommend The Kilted Lobster as a hidden gem in Stockbridge.
I visited a charming little restaurant for dinner last night and was thoroughly impressed. The complimentary seafood canapes were delicious and set high expectations for our main courses, which did not disappoint. I enjoyed steamed mussels with citrus chimichurri, which had a refreshing citrus flavor and a lovely herbiness. My companion's monkfish with a sour salad and sweet pancake was a hit, while my crab risotto with trout fillet and citrus buttery clams and cockles was a flavorful surprise. The combination of flavors was excellent and exceeded our expectations.
The five-course tasting menu with wine pairings was absolutely fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the seafood dishes and the perfectly matched wines. The bramble gin served with dessert was a delightful touch. The staff were attentive, announcing each course and serving them promptly. Overall, we had a wonderful night and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
Amazing food with great service. They have great pork, salmon and of course the lobster. And the price is much cheaper than I expected.
Absolutely fantastic in all areas! Fully recommend this place especially after finding out what they do for the local community. The surprise canapés were insane and the starters were delicious. Our lobster main was delectable and my girlfriend wishes she hadn't gone for the 1/2 choice (she stole mine anyway! . The wine recommendation was on top form and the staff were helpful and friendly. My bank account is sad but I am not. Eat here asap!
