Had a great time, was served by Cain who was very knowledgeable and always happy to help. 10/10 great service, will definitely be back.

The quality of the food here is similar to that of a typical mid-range pub, but the prices suggest a more upscale dining experience. I paid £32 for a venison dish that came with only about 100g of meat, as seen in the photo. It was quite mediocre and I felt a bit ripped off due to the small portion size. When I mentioned this to the waitress, her response was simply "I know." The £5.50 "beef dripping chips" turned out to be just frozen oven chips with no hint of beef dripping. It seems that their specialty might be seafood, but I would hesitate to trust such an average place with something as delicate as seafood. Overall, the restaurant is overpriced and underwhelming—you're better off dining elsewhere.

A lovely meal with highlights of venison sausage roll starter and cote de boeuf which was simply enormous. All beautifully served by the lovely Erin. Will return!

I went here last weekend with my girlfriend during a weekend trip in Edinburgh. We randomly found this place and decided to have some food and drinks. Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was top-notch. Our server, Cain, was friendly and helpful, making our time even more enjoyable. He also impressed us with his amazing cocktails. Cain even gave us some great recommendations for places to visit and things to do in Edinburgh. Overall, the service was exceptional. I would give Cain a perfect score of 10/10.

Great historic pub rest venue .. arrived at 12.00 and greeted by nice waitress who took our order .. Food arrived steak sandwich amazing and Cullen sink very good Well worth a visit but make sure you book
