Sainsbury's - Edinburgh, City of

I just wanted to express my gratitude to Alex. We stopped by the restaurant looking for popcorn kernels on our way home. Initially, he couldn't locate them on the app, but right before we left the self-service area, he rushed over having found them. His effort was greatly appreciated and his kind act made our already wonderful day even better. Thank you again, mate!

This café has a spacious layout with lots of tables, but the service was disappointingly slow. My friend ordered a bowl of soup and a pot of tea, but she had to wait so long at the counter for her tea that her soup got cold. The prices were reasonable and the bathrooms were clean.

Really lovely salmon and egg bagel, and a full breakfast for the husband. Coffee was delicious, staff were very friendly and chatty. Lovely service, great value . Live the car parking, avoid the rain, lol

The building is elevated and the car park is underneath but with open sides. This means it's always dry, well lit and ice free but not claustrophobic and access up to the store is by easy travelator or spacious lift. The store is pretty new and has clothes and homewares as well as food and on the ground level there is a cash machine and petrol station. The only bug bear is it's a hassle if you're turning right in to the store at the junction because of the oncoming traffic but big deal. My store of choice in bad weather.

This branch of sainsbury's has a good cafe unlike some of the other branches this one can make a decent breakfast.
