Bidra med feedbackThis charming countryside bar/restaurant, located in a converted stable, has a warm and cozy atmosphere, and it’s dog-friendly with good food. However, the seating was a bit unclean, the service was slow, and the prices were on the higher side. It's a nice spot if you're in the area, whether you're looking for a pint or a warm place to relax by the fire, but I probably wouldn't recommend making a special trip to visit.
Back at it again! The Stable Bar has truly found its groove. The staff is great, there’s an excellent selection of beers (both local and from elsewhere), and the food is impressive enough that I’d be happy to enjoy it in any bar in town, let alone out here in the countryside! It's wonderful to have a child-friendly place where we can grab some snacks and drinks. They’ve recently added a TV, and it’s used perfectly—only for major events, rather than being on all the time showing nonsense. I’m really happy with how The Stable Bar has developed!
The food was excellent, and the service was attentive, all within a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the 2 1/2 portion haddock and chips for £10, along with mac and cheese. The half-sized portions were quite generous, and I can only imagine how large the full portions must be! The staff was very friendly, regularly checking in on us to see how we were enjoying our meal. The restaurant features dark ceilings, plaid booths, and a large fireplace, which, combined with the stone walls, creates a warm and inviting pub-like ambiance. Housed in a converted stable, this is truly a fantastic spot.
I've been visiting this lovely country pub since 1994 (when I was a Mortonhall resident, not inside the Crematorium, though, but outside) can assure you that you will not be disappointed if you look for a family dog friendly atmosphere with lovely stone and wooden interiors and a superb fire place that makes a big difference during those snowy winter days. Service was great and food is good and affordable. I got my Peroni beer plus my haddock and chips with mushy peas. Fish and chips were delicious, fish batter was properly crispy and haddock perfectly fried. Wi-Fi is available too if you don't want to lose your connection with outside world. Great place to visit!!!
Fantastic Pub in a unique location. Cows and horses abound. Great massive open court yard. Good drinks, great prices, friendly people!
