Browns Socialhouse - Edmonton

3 of us decided on BSH for dinner arriving Sunday 5:50pm. It was busy but not full and we were promptly seated. Our server came 5 minutes later for our drink order. I ordered a Caesar and the 2 girls ordered water. About 5 minutes later she returned to bring water and take our food order but no Caesar so I thought maybe the bartender was struggling. 10 minutes later our server returned to tell us that they were running very short in the kitchen and our food would be delayed. I then asked about my Caesar and she said I didn't order one. The girls at our table said that I had ordered it and the server said she didn't think so! Stop with the tude and don't argue with me! Another 5 minutes later my Caesar arrived with an apology. My wife is a diabetic and had taken her insulin anticipating food arrival. 45 minutes still no food so my wife went to the hostess and told her about the need for food because of her insulin. They said it was being plated and the manager would be at our table to discuss the issue. 10 minutes later the food arrived as did the manger. She was apologetic explaining that 2 cooks didn't come in and she couldn't get a hold of anyone else. She discounted the food and free key lime pie which was appreciated. The food was good but the lengthy delay and server tude put us off so it will be a while before we return. Nearly 2 hours from arrival to departure is unacceptable.

Good food. Hamburgers, yam fries, fish and chips, steak and salads all very tasty and portions were substantial. I took half my veggie burger home with me. Shared double chocolate dessert - yummy.

A gem. A real favourite location to have good eats and in a very nice, relaxed atmosphere. It is truly a social club for all types of patrons. Patio was hot and the drinks were ice cold which made for a great afternoon. A bit pricey for the main meal but, appetizers were reasonable.

They used to have this great meal I would always get but they changed it up. It was the potato crusted halibut and now because halibut is so expensive they changed it to some other kind of fish. It's an ok place to go for sports dinner but it is loud as hell.

I've eaten supper at Brown's, but was surprised to find out that they offer a brunch menu and it is FABULOUS!I ordered the blueberry compote waffles and they were wonderful. They are made crispy and full of flavor, topped with whipped cream.While I am not a huge dessert fan, I had eaten here before and knew that I wanted to take home an Oreo Jar. It is an an amazing desert....light and fluffy and a true cheesecake, in the sense that it is not over-sweet and has the lingering cheese flavor of a true cheesecake. One of my favorite desserts and was just as good as a take-out item as it was when I had it in the restaurant.
