Viphalay Laos Thai - Edmonton

I absolutely love this restaurant! Although I've only tried the takeout, I find the portions a bit smaller and the prices a little high, but it's so worth it. Every bite is delightful. The vegetables are always fresh and crisp, and the noodles are bursting with spicy flavor. The coconut rice is amazing—it’s both light and rich in coconut taste. My only minor complaint is that sometimes the meat can be a bit dry. Nevertheless, I always enjoy my meal tremendously!

Honestly, this is my favorite Pad Thai in town. Their dessert rotti rolls are also excellent and a must-try. My boyfriend had the Hell's Beef, and he said it was really good (and spicy). We'll definitely be back!

This is a lovely restaurant with great service and a traditional Thai menu. The fish soup was incredible—comforting, delicious, and perfectly balanced. While the rest of our meal was enjoyable, it seemed a bit toned down, particularly with the use of chicken breast instead of more diverse and flavorful cuts. It's not my top choice in Edmonton, but I still found it quite good!

Friendly service, good prices and excellent portions. Never left feeling hungry. Great little place if you're looking for food downtown that is a bit out of the way. Not a huge amount of places to sit so it probably wouldn't hurt to phone ahead some days.

I've frequented Viphalay so many times over the years. The food is always absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, with the best coconut rice in the city, imo. The service was not the greatest the last time I was there (really curt server), but it has been ok all other times. I recommend this venue and can't wait to go back!
