Carrington - EGG HARBOR

Called to make a reservation and the person taking my call must have been at home since I could hear a screaming child in the background. No problem, I understand life happens. Instead of asking if I could call back, or stepping out, he was obviously annoyed and said “I can’t hear you” and hung up. We went that night and at least there was a reservation at the time I had requested. The server was very nice, but slower as he was still learning English and the job. I can’t imagine going to another country and trying to work when they don’t speak my native language. Awesome for him. The food was very good, except we noticed multiple tables who had ordered fried things (crab cakes and coconut shrimp for example) were over fried and quite a dark brown. The drinks were good and the bartender came around multiple times to refill water glasses. Beautiful views and a nice place.

We weren't able to make a 7pm review, we had to make 715pm because they were busy I guess? We chose to be seated outside, which had an amazing view close to sunset. We were at our seats for over 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. It took 25 minutes from when we were seated to get drinks. Our food took 65 minutes from seated to get to us. Service was very poor, even though our server was very nice. Only one third of the tables or less were seated on a Friday night, so the extremely slow service seemed very odd. The food was very good, which brought this up to a 2 star. However the second refill on a soft drink for the kids charged us for another drink. Maybe that's common around here, but not something I'm accustomed to. Great food, really really slow service.

We ask for a table on the deck, they sat us down and no one came to serve us. A few more people arrived after we did, also sat on the deck, got water, drinks and ordered food, while we waited. We talked to a waitress to ask for service, after another 10 more minutes, no one came and we left. Never going back there

Good food liked the cherry Bbq sauce and Au gratin potatoes. We did take out and received food on time. Staff was pleasant and friendly.

The wait to get service was about 15 mins (understandable for what looked like being understaffed). Waiting over an hour to get your food to only have the order be incorrect is unacceptable. We said right away the order was wrong, the server walked away without a care in the world. Had to go to the bar to try to get someone to help correct the order with little luck. It is hard to enjoy your meal when not a single plate that came to the table was correct.
