Take a moment to appreciate it: there's a beer cooler and salsa bar to the left, paintings depicting Mexican peasant life on the right wall within faux brick alcoves, a large menu above the checkout right in the center, and plastic tables lined along both walls. Enjoy the mariachi music playing from a boombox, where the two enthusiastic fellows behind the counter seem to really know how to deliver the goods. These are the true markers of great Mexican food. Just order whatever sounds appealing; you really can’t go wrong here. Personally, I'm a fan of tortas (a sandwich on a large roll with beans, meat, avocado, salad, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro), typically either carne asada (grilled beef) or carnitas (slow-cooked pork). However, I'm also known to indulge in burritos and tacos. Once again, everything is delicious. I like to mix their fresh salsa with their spiciest, kernel-colored hot sauce and wash it down with horchata (a sweet rice drink). After this experience, you might never want to return to a traditional sit-down Mexican restaurant again!
