Santana's Mexican Grill - El Cajon

This was one of my first experiences with Mexican food in the United States. I've been coming here for the past 10 years, and while the food has been consistently good, it hasn't always hit the mark. Their carne asada fries tend to have a lot of potatoes and average-quality meat. The prices are a bit on the high side, and if you decide to use the drive-thru, be prepared to wait about 30 minutes for your order. The highlight of this place is definitely the red sauce, which packs a nice kick, but they tend to be a bit stingy with it. Overall, I’d give 5 stars for the hot sauce, but the food can be hit or miss in terms of quantity and consistency.

I was nearby and decided to grab some quick, delicious Mexican food. I ordered four rolled tacos with guacamole and cheese, and let me tell you, they were absolutely fantastic! There was a generous amount of guacamole, and the flavor was amazing. To top it all off, the hot sauces were incredibly tasty! The prices were a bit on the higher side, but that seems to be the norm these days. Keep up the excellent work!

They offer two fantastic carne asada dope specials and a drink that I absolutely love. I've also sampled their folded taco plate, along with other dishes, and everything has been so delicious. My only wish is that they had a spicier hot sauce. Recently, I decided to try the tripas tacos—wow! They were crispy and incredibly tasty. Highly recommend!
