Patagonia Rebelde Resto-Pena

We are in Chalten, Argentina and I understand that it is remote and expect to pay more! We had a meal at this place and iI must admit that the staff were pleasant, but the lamb special that I ordered was 180 pesos which is the regular price and I got 2 pieces of bone with a little bit of raw meat attached? it did also have 6 french fries? We also had 2 glasses of very cheap house Malbec, so under a bottle and it was 180 pesos? you can usually by about 3 bottles of good Malbec in any other restaurant in Argentina for that price. So all in all it cost us 480 pesos for a bad meal and I am still hungry? We have been in Argentina for 2 months and I have had great meals the rest of the time........

Small place. very simple. Nice staff, no English. Mediocre food, we expected more after getting recommendations. The stew was nice. the lamb was dry.

Wonderfull trucha with fresh herbs. best milanesa of Patagonia... good cook. Life music weekly. I like this place.

This restaurant was described to us as cheap & cheerful! It has a good selection of beers & wine, the menu choice was good & varied. Had 2 mains 2 beers cost around $350 pesos. The only thing that let it down was the service and cleanliness. Its not hard to keep the tables clean. Okay apart from language barrier they could have made more money if they had taken any interest. Apart from that the Food is well cooked & tasty the beer is good and live entertainment. Worth a visit if your in town.

Our accommodation advised that they would meet here to give us the key and we stayed for dinner! Then the next night came back. The food was very tasty and generous portions, the waiting staff very helpful, and then the buskers came and entertain with traditional folk music from Northern Argentina! What was not to enjoy over our evenings here.
