Bidra med feedbackThe food was great, the customer service was even better. The gentleman running the register and the one cooking, were both very friendly and helpful.
Ordered a California burrito, and it was about 2? in diameter and 4 or 5? long. Maybe 4 fries and 5 chunks of meat. Smaller than a taco. For $14 dollars. What a joke. Will never come here again.
I ordered the Grilled Gourmet Shrimp Two Taco Plate, along with an extra taco and a churro. As always, the food was fantastic. It was perfectly spicy, just the way I like it, with wonderfully blended flavors, and a warm churro for dessert. The only thing that could top this experience for me would be authentic Mexican street tacos from a food truck.
We ordered taco plates: I had the original fish tacos, while my wife opted for a tasting plate with a chicken taco and a grilled fish taco. Since it was a takeout order, we made the mistake of not checking the boxes before leaving. I had ordered rice and beans but received chips instead of rice. My wife requested greens and non-fried pinto beans but got regular refried beans and an original fish taco instead of the grilled one. While these mix-ups were disappointing, they weren't entirely egregious, and I could have checked the order before leaving the restaurant. However, things took a turn for the worse once we arrived home. My tacos were essentially devoid of fish; both featured only large pieces of deep-fried batter with nothing that resembled fish inside. The texture was chewy, and the flavor was off—simply terrible. My wife's taco was better, but I ended up eating it since she prefers grilled tacos and isn't fond of the original style. The beans were mediocre at best, and her greens consisted of just a small spoonful of shredded lettuce with some dressing. Overall, given my generally positive experiences at Rubio's over the years, this was quite disappointing. There are plenty of fast-casual dining options in the Folsom and EDH area that are more reliable, and we plan to explore several new taquerias. Unfortunately, after last night, we won't be returning to Rubio's.
The food was delicious, but I encountered poor customer service from a young lady who resembled the Purdue University mascot. She was quite rude and even lied to me directly. On a brighter note, the salsas were tasty, and the restaurant was generally clean.
