Bidra med feedbackNot many dedicated vegan foods in El Paso, so when I saw a vegan section on their menu on Uber Eats, I was encouraged to give it a try. I'm scared. The fresh spring roll uses deep-fried tofu, which was in thick pieces, the type of defeated the purpose, it was a fresh spring roll. The taste was a little off I think because the tofu was overly flavored, not again in line with the fresh spring roll concept. I asked if the Mayo left the Banh mi Tofu sandwich and was told that it was otherwise vegan, although it was not on the vegan menu. The bread had no crust (keys to a good Banh mi and seemed to buy, but the sandwich was different. I'm probably spoiled by Vietnamese restaurants on the west coast. Finally, I was usually satisfied with the lemongrass tofu dish that you can get over rice or pasta or both. Very tasteful and a huge portion, but on the fat side. (See photo.
We visited Pho Tres Bien Express and unfortunately had a negative experience at this location (address provided below). We hope that other locations may offer a different experience. The address is 6205, 4309 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79904. When we arrived, we inquired about their vegan options and were told by an employee that there was only one option available, a salad that could be made without meat. However, we noticed summer rolls with tofu on the menu board, indicating that there were other options available (although we were not interested in the summer rolls). When we asked about another dish and if it contained fish sauce, the employee appeared confused and suggested we could have fish sauce on the side. It seemed as though our questions were perceived as bothersome by the employee. The restaurant did not have a traditional menu, but rather a photo book and listed dishes on a chalkboard behind the counter. This did not align with the information provided on HappyCow. Perhaps with a more knowledgeable employee or by visiting a different location, our experience would have been better. Ultimately, this experience prompted us to explore other vegan dining options.
My experience with the Pho at this restaurant was disappointing. We ordered it vegan but the flavors didn't blend well together. It felt like they simply removed the meat and replaced it with random vegetables, resulting in a strange taste.
Although it was my favorite place, I received terrible service last time. However, I still love the food.
My experience at Pho Tres Bien Express was disappointing. We visited the location at 6205, 4309 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79904 on a Sunday evening. Upon asking about vegan options, the staff member only showed us a picture of a salad and mentioned that we could remove the meat. Despite seeing summer rolls with tofu on the menu board, the staff member did not mention them as an option. When we asked about fish sauce in another dish, the staff member seemed confused and suggested we could have it on the side. The lack of an actual menu and the staff's seeming annoyance at our questions left us feeling unsatisfied. We ultimately decided to leave and look for other vegan dining options. Hopefully other locations of Pho Tres Bien Express have better service and more diverse menu options.
