Bidra med feedbackI thought this place was amazing. I have only been there once, but I want to go back and try literally everything on their menu. I had the ahi burger with kimchi and a side of their homemade chips and smoked ahi dip. This place feels like a local joint where you get high quality food at reasonable prices. I don't care that the parking is terrible, and that it took a little while to get my food. It was amazing, and I would absolutely go back again and again.
Very fresh Hawaiian style poke. Bowls were a bit small for the price and any sides cost extra. I ordered Kahlua pork tacos $7) and a poke bowl with the sweet and spicy tuna and ponzu salmon poke $14). Fish was so fresh and tasty.Seating patio seating outside and few tables insideParking small lot out back, street parking
This place is a little slice of Hawai’i. They have the best Kalua pork ever and the freshest and tastiest poké outside of Hawai’i! I love that they use brown rice. My dad loved the huli huli chicken plate I brought home. And my sister loved the garlic fried chicken plate. Both chicken plates are really flavorful. Staff is friendly and Guy is super nice and welcoming. Picture is of my two choice poké bowl with spicy tuna and Hawaiian poké and an order of Kalua pork tacos. Soo good!! I will definitely be coming back here every chance I get! Mahalo ??
I live in Oceanside (North County San Diego) and made a day trip up to pick up some special plumeria plants up in Ventura (J and J Plumerias). Well, on the way back down I was looking for a spot to grab some lunch. I used to live in the southbay 20 years ago and if there's one thing I know you can find some good local grindz. Low and behold Ali'i pops up here on Yelp. Another reviewer said owner is from Hawaii and majority of the reviews here say this place is winnahz. Well, as a local girl from Hawaii this one comes very close. Can't quite compare every poke place here on this side of the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii's poke but this one's on my list of go-to's when I'm in the area. They use hapa sushi rice! So Ono! PS: Hapa rice Brown rice calrose rice . We pounded our poke bowls so fast . Owner (I'm assuming that was him at the register) was nice enough to give us some ice and bag it up with our additional order of poke to bring back on our little road trip back to San Diego. We tried: Cali roll, Shoyu Limu, Sweet Spicy, Hawaiian. Also got to sample the Ginger one (forgot the name). It's a small place but ample seating outside. When back in the area we are definitely hitting this place up again. Already told some of my Hawaii fam and friends that's nearby to check this place out. Next time I visit my fam in LA I'm gonna have to get them to pick some of this up for me too or pick some up before they come to visit us in SD .
Probably the most fresh poke I've ever had. I've never been to Hawaii but I imagine this is what poke tastes like there. No pungent fish smell. The seaweed salad may have been my favorite. Super friendly staff and chatted with the owner. Also tried the tacos as well that were a bit too salty for my liking.10/10 ambiance and seating available outside. Quick service and friendly staff and good vibes . There is parking available and there was no wait when we went. Giving it 4 stars because it is a bit pricey in my opinion for the portion but I can see why since it's high quality and very fresh. We were still hungry after the poke so got tacos as well as the potato chips they made in house. My husband really liked the dip and devoured the entire thing. If you're in the area, it's nice to check out or try. It was pretty close to LAX in El Segundo area.
