Gifford's Kitchen Social - Elgin

My wife and I came to Giffords for dinner and drinks at the bar and we had the pleasure of being served by Stacy Erica! Generally, it is difficult to get high-quality service at a busy bartop, but they worked so well together that we had a lot of attention through the night. The food is phenomenal (recommend the buffalo shrimp) and the drinks are infused and top notch. Will be back to see the two between Thursday and Saturday! A must try!

A nice bar and Eatery with a rustic feel. We had a wedding at the Giffords kitchen and they were able to handle our family. The staff was very helpful and kind. It's right next to a man-made lake and right across the street is a hotel which makes get-togethers like weddings easier.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I visited on Saturday, March 16th, for their St. Patrick's Day special corned beef dinner. Unfortunately, the roasted potatoes they served were subpar. I arrived at 4:30 PM, and the restaurant was less than half full. The photo shows not just the initial attempt at the potatoes but also the replacement order that I ended up piling on top of the first batch—they were still inedible. It's a shame because the atmosphere is quite nice.

The food and service here is fantastic. I had the smoked salmon with Avocado Texas toast and it was amazing. Everything was so fresh and it really had some rich flavors for each part. My fiancée had a custom frittata with hash and fruit on the page. The Frittata was perfectly baked and the hash was just perfect, not fat. Definitely back to this place for the weekend brunch!!!
