Hoppe's Tavern - Elgin

I visited the restaurant for their fish fry and I was impressed with how tasty it was. The atmosphere was not too loud, with just the right amount of noise. Some people have mentioned the regular customers in their reviews, but I didn't find them to be a problem.

This dive bar falls short. Surprisingly, there is no menu or tab. The waitress simply tells you what you owe after ordering two pieces of fried fish.

We're holding a short drink. the service was fast and friendly and the barkeepers would often come to see if we were in order. great service, but the bathroom could use an upgrade.
