Sushi Yama - Escondido

The food was enjoyable overall. The chicken teriyaki bento box was outstanding, receiving a perfect 5/5. My sushi lunch was a solid 4/5, although the albacore had a stronger fish flavor than I prefer. Unfortunately, the Ocean specialty roll didn't meet my expectations, scoring just 1/5 due to its excessive sweetness.

Not worth it. Having worked in sushi restaurants for 10 years, I found the sushi here to be mediocre. This could be due to the fact that my order was placed for pick-up 40 minutes earlier.

I purchased a voucher last night before heading to the restaurant. When I tried to pay with the printed voucher, they refused to accept the paper version. After some involvement from the managers, they eventually agreed to accept it, but only as a one-time use. I wanted to save the remaining balance for a future visit, but I was compelled to order food I didn't want in order to use the full value of the voucher. Overall, I left as an unhappy customer.

The food was good, and the staff were friendly. While I was waiting for my meal, I had a great conversation with the sushi balls. Most importantly, I need to visit my aunt and uncle, and they really liked the food.
