Scotties Of Etowah

Please be aware that Scottie has reopened with a new menu, management, and staff since July 2021.

You need to use a blow torch to cook the burgers. The service was good, but the burger was unusable, completely burned out.

I visited the charming small town of Etowah with my family and spent two and a half days there, enjoying a fantastic train ride. The Farm House Restaurant came highly recommended, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment. Instead, we discovered Scotties, where the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. I tipped every employee $10 each, except for the chef. We enjoyed all our meals at Scotties during our stay. I can only say that the staff at the Farm House Restaurant could benefit from additional training at Scotties, especially the cook!

It seems the cook was grumbling loudly enough for him to hear about how she disliked heating the grill so hot for the hash browns. That might explain why he had to finish cooking them once he got home—they were still raw. The two pieces of Bacon also required additional cooking at our place. This was not the ideal way to start a beautiful Sunday morning. At around 3 PM, during another bout of venting, he mentioned that the total cost was $10.00. It’s disappointing to be scolded for ordering breakfast, even if it had been free. I will absolutely never eat there again. I’m sorry for the owners, but they need to be aware of what is happening in their own restaurant. It could be a fantastic place to dine, especially in a smaller area like Etowah, but it’s a shame to see a couple of bitter employees tarnish the reputation of a nice establishment for the entire community.
