Ristoro Du Centre - Etroubles

I wish we had seen the comments on TripAdvisor before we went in. No menu. Before we could ask anything we got a plate with ham and bread, which tasted nice, but was very little for 6 persons. After that an unappetising plate of polenta, with total absence of any taste, with a slice of melted cheese on it. I think the old woman, that pretends to be gentile, just warms it up in the microwave. A bottle of not so good wine....Total: 15 euro per person 25 for the wine. Or she has no shame, or she's not completely right in the head anymore. We chose to stay polite, in case she is indeed dementing, it's sad and she can't help it. We gave 10 per person and 20 for the wine, which was still way too much...

I discovered Ristoro du Centre during my business travels from Italy to Switzerland. Etroubles is a wonderful little village on the road that goes to the Grand Saint Bernard pass. What really makes this restaurant special is the love and care that Angela, the owner, brings in here. Every dish a made with passion and all ingredients are local, many of them from Angela's garden. I usually don't read the menu and let myself be guided by what she has prepared, after so many trips I have to say I've been never disappointed. The place is special too, with wonderful wood pieces and warm intimate atmosphere. Ristoro du Centre is among the 5 most genuine places I discovered in Italy. My advice is: Take your time, walk the stone streets of Etroubles, be taken away from the magic of the place and finally eat at Angela's place, I guarantee, an angel will serve at your table.

Arrivati ​​fuori orario. La signora tuttofare è simpatica anche se non lo è subito. Disponibile solo un tagliere buono, tipico ma avrebbe potuto forse essere più abbondante. Atmosfera simpatica, genuina, particolare. Da tornare per un vero pasto valdostano.
