Akira - Eugene

This is the best food we've experienced in Eugene! The flavor combinations of the dishes and cocktails were incredible. We even finished all the wasabi, which was genuine and not just the typical green horseradish. The atmosphere was also fantastic! It had a distinctly Japanese vibe, all within an old American house.

This trendy Japanese restaurant is located in a charming old house in downtown Eugene. The host, who also served as the manager and waiter, was impressive, effortlessly managing the crowd with grace and charm. The appetizers, particularly the pickled sprouts, and the steamed bun tacos were excellent as well.

I was absolutely blown away by this place! I kept thinking that it’s exactly the kind of place I would love to run. From the comic books adorning the walls to the rock music creating the perfect atmosphere, and even the picture of Sonny Chiba behind the bar—everything resonated with me. It's truly my kind of spot! The food was incredible as well, and I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu.

Taro-so wanted to give a legit review but whenever I’m in town you’re closed. It’s Annah Ken Oka’s friend from ummmm 25 years ago. He was at Shoji’s and you were at misako’s if I remember. Moving back down in a few months and would be great to see your restaurant!

Atmosphere was great had what I think was a Filipino server who was a great face for the place but the food seemed very off it might’ve just been the food I got but the chirashi bowl’s fish seemed like it had gone bad the salmon in it was off putting and overall made us sick. No hardships on the server he was a very kind individual so it was to difficult to telling him how we felt.
