Bidra med feedbackThe cups, plates, utensils, all dirty and not just a spot or two. We asked for plastic- ware. Good thing the food was good but it made me wonder what the kitchen looked like.
The food tasted fantastic and the portions were huge. Staff was very friendly and the overall atmosphere was cosy. Kid-friendliness: Had a high chair and the kids got pens and paper
Very good burgers here. I may return to try other menu items sometime soon.
Most likely the best happy hour deals in Evanston. Many bars don't even have one, and if they do, discounts are miniscule. We love how happy hour includes drinks and bites. Dinner is always solid. Not the most gourmet pasta (not homemade), but tasty and worth the reasonable price. We haven't taken advantage of their Wednesday Jazz nights, but we appreciate the late hour (for Evanston, anyway) entertainment.
Prairie Moon is a diamond in the rough for Evanston in every meaningful way. I have now been 3 or 4 times and have been wowed each time. The food on offer is very elevated for “bar food,” and (hopefully saying this doesn’t change this) is such unbelievably good value. The interior is a basement. It’s not going to blow you away with its modernity or luxury. If you go in with the expectation that you’re in a basement bar, though, you’ll leave with a resonant “where did I just go?” feeling in the best way. I’ve been with groups of people each time I’ve been from vastly different walks of life, and everyone finds something here, and thus far, is impressed by it. Serious compliments to the head chef or whomever curates this menu, because this is not standard bar fare for the quality. I am typically fairly critical of places I go (though I do not often leave bad reviews), but it’s hard to find a bad thing to say about Prairie Moon. To the restaurant — keep up the great work. To the would-be patrons — keep this high on your list.
