Le Mont de Fuans - Exincourt

We were in the area around lunchtime and asked some locals for a recommendation. They sent us 7 kms away to this restaurant. Although we got there at about 1:15, there was no problem getting a table ready for us on the terrace. Views were relaxing, menu made everyone happy, prices very good, service excellent, We were delighted with the entire experience.

Saw the place on our way to Neuchatel, Switzerland on a Friday morning because of a road detour and thought it looked like a good place for lunch. Same detour on the way back with a perfect timing for a lunch break. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Ham (jambon cru) was a lifetime best. So tasty and fresh! Heaven. Great location with a view if the weather permits use of the terrace. Extremely friendly service by owner. Very clean restroom area. Very reasonably priced and by the looks of it highly appreciated and valued by the locals. The secret's out, sorry, folks. I hesitated but did not taste the local saucisse de Morteau with a Morbier sauce as it was going to be on my plate that evening so I'll have to go back. Absolutely delighted by this unexpected find. The real deal. It still exists and it's not stuffy or pretentious. The road leading to this area has some nice turns, too! All good.
