Parc De Ville - Fairfax

Cocktail called Lemon spritz was mostly pineapple juice. Strange name which perhaps should have been called pineapple spritz? I was graciously given a different drink. App beet salad had the strongest flavored Roquefort any of the 4 of us had ever had. Ok for 2 of us not so for the other 2. The steak frites and moules frites were fantastic! Extremely generous amounts. Steaks thick and tender. Mussels huge, and only one was strong tasting. Rice pudding way too sweet, though we ate it. We were there the day of the rooftop Halloween party, but we were in the main downstairs dining room. The costumes of some of the hostesses and servers were incredibly well done. Fun night.

Great ambiance, but the food was not impressive. Shrimps from the shrimp cocktail was not deveined. The escargot was salty. And the duck confit tasted gamey.

Good menu choices. Food was well-prepared, flavorful and good-sized portions. Service was very good. Did have to ask for bread twice. Would go back.

We were hear a month ago and wrote about how impressed we were with the restaurant. It was an excellent dinner. The only issue was that the service was a bit slow. Back again one month later. We sit and seconds later, our server, Meredith, says hello. She apologizes that service may be slow due to multiple illnesses in the staff. Glad she said it. Our expectations were now set. Food was excellent again. Salad, fish, burger. But the service with a depleted staff was EXCELLENT. Meredith took time to explain the menu and make recommendations. She is very personable and effective. She told of dining around the world, often getting poor service. She explained how that drove her to provide great service...and she along with her team did. Clone Meredith and her team along with your cooks. Very happy with our meal.

My steak frites was stellar! Perfect medium rare. Best old-fashioned ever. The atmosphere was perfect for our anniversary celebration. We felt like we were in a secluded little hideaway even in the middle of a bustling bistro. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Mike took fantastic care of us. We wanted for nothing. Mike was on top of everything from drinks to dessert. Great recommendations and on the the ball service without feeling overbearing. Mike made our anniversary night perfect. One of the many reasons this is one of our favorite places!
