Bidra med feedbackFinally visited the famous Rawleys. Having grown up near a locally favorite fried dog place out of state, I was excited to try here. Tiny ordering counter and a few tables off to the side. Friendly man at the counter who verified everyone's order (phoneand walk in) before turning it over to the cook. I was happy to see they offer both brown and yellow mustard. Yes, it matters. The sharp vinegar in yellow mustard cuts the fatty spiciness of a hot dog. Try it if you've only used brown. The dog had a nicesnap but was very mild in flavor-reminded me of the supermarket dogs my mom used to feed us. This is the reason I took a staraway. There are better dogs along the shoreline of CT. But, you can't beat the nostalgia of the building, inside and out, andthat does make a difference. This is a place your grandparents probably went to for a date. Old but not run down.
Went here in a whim with my uncle because he said they were good hotdogs. He was almost right, they are great.
The best chili dogs in Connecticut! A little on the expensive side, but totally worth every penny! Be sure to try the chocolate shakes while you're there—they're fantastic!
You're not visiting this place for a fancy atmosphere, but if Michelin could award stars to roadside eateries, this one would definitely earn it. Does Rawleys serve the best hot dog? Absolutely! They also offer delicious freshly made blended burgers, and owner AJ has a homemade bean burger recipe that is simply the best! The shakes, fries, and onion rings were all fantastic. Did we overindulge? You bet! We can't wait to return!
I saw this place featured on "Best Food I Ever Ate," and wow, Alex Guarnaschelli wasn't exaggerating! This is by far the best hot dog I've ever had. Everything works perfectly together, and the shakes were amazing as well. I really wish I lived closer to this place because I would be here all the time!
